Hale & Hush Launches HydroMelon Cream

In the skincare industry, trends are always changing. But what I have found in the last ten years or so is the emerging trend of creating products that are multidimensional in what they can treat. I love this for everyone. Gone are the days of having to have 15 different products in a home care routine and even better gone are the tacky influencer videos of them having 45 products in their esty fridges claiming how great their skin looks by using all of them every day. Plot twist, they were not fooling anyone.

Hale & Hush is one of the skincare brands that are consistent with producing great products with clean, results driven ingredients at a very reasonable price.

So when I heard that Hale & Hush was pairing with Lipgloss + Aftershave for a launch webinar, of course I was there.

The launch? Hale & Hush’s new Hydromelon Cream.

So let’s get to it, shall we? This new moisturizer is not just for the face. It was formulated for the face, neck and décolleté in mind. This cream is oncology safe, pregnancy and post pregnancy safe, sensitive skin safe and great for those going though perimenopause and menopause. Benefits include an immediate lifting and tightening effect, improved skin structure, improved skin barrier health, improved hydration retention, improved elasticity and the reduction of appearance of fine line and loose skin. Some of these benefits are immediate, some of them will be over time with consistent use. It’s vegan, artificial fragrance free and uses all raw natural ingredients for scents.

The moisturizer can also be used and works well with Vitamin C and Retinol Serums. You can use this as a night cream, or use as both a day and night cream. Another thing to note is, that because of the oils in this product it’s perfect for moisture retention. However, it’s a denser cream that will take a minute or two to massage into the skin.

Ingredient Deck

Cloudberry Seed Oil- Indigenous to Finland, Norway and Denmark, this berry is trapped under ice for 8 months until they can be harvested from June to September. However, because they are frozen, this natural phenomenon actually quadruples the intensity of the antioxidant properties. Cloudberry seed oil is a nutrient-dense, cold-pressed oil rich in Vitamins C and E, omega-3 and -6 fatty acids and ellagitannins. Phytoceramides and fatty acids improve skin texture and elasticity and the combination of Vitamin C, E, and carotenoids stimulates collagen production. Cloudberry Seed Oil is anti inflammatory, brightening, hydrating, and skin barrier supportive.

Lingonberry Seed Oil- Lingonberry is another nutrient dense berry that grows and is harvested in the Northern Hemisphere, in the Nordic forests and arctic tundra regions. Rich in essential fatty acids Alpha-Linolenic acid (Omega-3), Linoleic acid (Omega-6), and Vitamin E (tocotrienols). This seed oil is anti inflammatory, antioxidant, brightening, improves elasticity and supports the moisture barrier.

Rowanberry Seed Oil- This oil is particularly valued in Scandinavian, natural, and arctic-derived cosmetic formulations and primarily sourced from cold-climate regions in the Northern Hemisphere, including Scandinavia, Finland, Russia, and Central Europe, where the tree grows wild. Rowanberry Seed Oil is a powerful antioxidant due to high vitamin C and carotene content. It’s also rich in essential fatty acids Alpha-Linolenic acid (Omega-3), Linoleic acid (Omega-6), and Oleic Acid (Omega-9). In skincare formulations, it’s ideal for hydrating, repairing, and brightening skin

Kalahari Melon Seed Oil- This seed oil is a lightweight, cold-pressed oil from the wild watermelon (Tsamma melon) of Southern Africa (growing mostly in Namibia and Botswana), rich in omega fatty acids (Linoleic acid (Omega-6), and Oleic Acid (Omega-9), antioxidants, and Vitamins A, C and E. Benefits include improved moisture retention, hydration, skin barrier health, elasticity and it is anti inflammatory.

Watermelon Seed Oil- This seed oil contains a variety of beneficial components, such as fatty acids (Linoleic acid (Omega-6), and Oleic Acid (Omega-9), vitamins (A, B and E), minerals (Magnesium, Iron, Potassium), and phytonutrients. Watermelon seed oil contains phytosterols, which are plant compounds with anti-inflammatory properties. Phytosterols can be used to soothe and calm the skin, reducing redness and irritation. This seed oil soothes and deeply hydrates skin.

Pumpkin Seed Oil- This nutrient dense oil is rich in fatty acids Alpha-Linolenic acid (Omega-3), Linoleic acid (Omega-6), Oleic Acid (Omega-9) and antioxidants. It also contains Zinc and Vitamins C and E. Benefits include soothes irritation, promotes cell regeneration, deeply hydrating, and brightening.

Basal Extract- (Ocimum basilicum) is a potent, natural skincare ingredient rich in antioxidants, vitamins (A, C and K), and antimicrobial compounds. Basal extract benefits include anti inflammatory, antioxidant, and natural wound healer.

Matribust®- is a co product of jojoba oil extraction. It features complex sugars called Oligosaccharides. Jojoba oil extract is also known as Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Extract. This ingredient blend revitalizes the dermal epidermal junction DEJ, and protects dermal fibers, regulating the skin’s matrisome or extra cellular matrix (proteins that support skin structure). Simply put, it increases density and tightness and skin elasticity, supporting skin structure from within.

Instensyl®- this ingredient blend instantly tightens, by creation of a temporary stable microscopic film on the skin, lasting up to 4 hours. The key ingredient is a 3D glucan biopolymer from Cassava, or Hydrolzed Manihot Esculeata Tuber Extract. It also contains Gatuline Expression or Acmella Oleracea Extract which relaxes the facial expression lines and Sodium Hyaluronate, a multi level hydration with different chain lenghs.

Aqualxll™- This blend is derived from natural sugars Xylitylglucoside, Anhydroxylitol and xylitol. It reinforces the skin barrier function, stimulates the synthesis of ceramides, boosting formulations of hyaluronic acid and maximizes water circulation within the epidermis. This ingredient works on contact for up to 6-7 hours to provide hydration and fill fine lines.

An interesting note about Aqualxll is it increases the moisturizing efficacy of glycerin while reducing the stickiness of glycerin. A combination of 1.5% of Aquaxll and 3% of glycerin versus glycerin alone shows an increase of moisturizing properties by 30%.

Progeline™- is a 3-amino acid biomimetic peptide (Trifluoroacetyl Tripeptide-2) that reduces progerin, a protein causing cellular aging, to remodel, firm, and lift sagging skin.

Who Would I Prescribe This To?

The first thing I thought of was GLP-1 users. As we all know, Ozempic and Wegovy users are able to loose great amounts of weight over short periods of time that outpaces the skin’s ability to shrink back. Especially in the facial structure and neck with a rapid loss of subcutaneous fat.

Those with sensitive skin, dry or dehydrated skin, aging skin, loose skin or crepe textured skin are especially going to benefit from this product.

I would not prescribe this to anyone with very oily, acneic skin. For those with this skin type, I would suggest Mandelic Acid. It would be okay for someone who had dry, acneic skin.
