Avalon Presents It’s New Nail Department
The spa and myself are very proud to announce that we have opened our nail department and are taking new clients! This $7,500 new department has definitely been a labor of love. One of the last departments to be added before the expansion, we spared no expense when it came to supplies, equipment and furniture.
The department features one manicure area and one pedicure area, and plans to double this and add in a small seating area for tea service when the spa expands into the bigger location.
The nail department seating features the Canterbury Collection club and high back chairs in teal faux leather and silver nailheads. These plush chairs are comfortable with wide seating and firm support. In addition to comfortable seating, the nail department features a demi wall of multiple 6 foot water feature fountains for a calming and relaxing experience. The spa has also brought in custom artwork that features real driftwood, preserved shelf mushrooms, preserved reindeer moss and moss rocks.
When it came to choosing equipment, the spa choose quality equipment with proven capabilities such as our $600 nail dust collector, one of the most powerful nail dust collectors on the market. For the nail drill, we choose only the best, Kupa, renowned for it’s quality and ease of use. Keeping with quality equipment, we choose Iwata for our airbrush system, the gold standard of airbrush equipment. We also choose high quality water based airbrush paints as opposed to what we see other nail artists providing; mixed acetone and gel polish applied with an airbrush machine. This dangerous trend is rising in the nail industry. When gel polish particles are broken down by acetone, they become smaller and more likely to penetrate the skin barrier. When pushed through an airbrush machine, it puts the client and the nail artist at great risk of inhalation of airborne particles that can cause respiratory problems, allergic reactions and harm to overall health The health of the nail, and overall environment is important to us and all of the choices in our techniques, backbar, and equipment reflects that. In addition to this, the spa uses Footsie Baths, a pedicure bowl with no plumbing. The disposable liners, which ensures a fresh, sterile experience for each client, eliminates the risk of cross-contamination and the spread of bacteria and fungus. The ultrasonic vibration mode on the pedicure baths provides a gentle massage while the warmer helps keep the water temperature comfortable. We also love that the pedicure bowl only uses 1.5 gallons of water compared to a traditional pedicure bowl that uses between 13 and 18 gallons of water.
We use Apres Gel, with a wide variety of colors and we are adding to our collection each season. Keeping with quality, we offer GelX extensions in both sculpted and natural; ensuring that the tip is molded perfectly to the natural curve of your nail. Why is this important? Because the tip must lay completely flat against the nail bed to prevent lifting and if the tip isn’t flush with the natural nail, water can seep in, increasing the risk of fungus development. We offer tips in short, medium and long. For tip shapes we offer square, round, almond, coffin and stiletto.
Our nail service provider, Kassie, specializes in holistic treatments of the nails and skin as well as GelX extensions, 3D nail art, hand painted nail designs and more. Rest assured as she is helping bring your nail designs to life, she has the knowledge, training and quality equipment to provide you with a service you will love.

Add On & Upgrades For Manicure
Gel Soak Off $10.00 With previous work done by The Avalon Day Spa Nail Service Providers. This service includes removal of gel extensions and polish. The Avalon Day Spa will not provide soak-off services for nail enhancements applied elsewhere due to various reasons. Different nail products (like hard gel vs. soft gel, acrylic, dip powder, etc.) require different removal methods. Our service providers do not know what product was used on the your nails, and will not provide soak-off services due to the possible risk of damage to your nails. If you currently have gel, dip powder or acrylic, then please see your previous provider for a soak-off service prior to your appointment at The Avalon Day Spa.
